The barn that is falling apart is over 200 years old and my relatives can't tear it down because it is something like a national artifact- they have to wait for it to fall to the ground!
A truly rugged and fascinating place, Tendal. Sarah's great great grandfather came from this farm, after helping his older half brother build ships down on the fjord. He sold his interest in this place to this brother and used the money to immigrate to the US, soon after marriage to Siri from Tungesvik, just the other side of Skaenavik. There are relatives descended from the remaining brother still living on the farm and they were kind enough to give us a tour. Keep it up SNS and post as many pics as you can.
